1976 MCF were form . The Malaysia Chess Federation (MCF) is the principal authority over all chess events in Malaysia. The MCF promotes and coordinates all major chess events in the 13 Malaysian states and is an active sports body in Malaysia. The Federation is affiliated to the world governing body, FIDE, and is part of the ASEAN Chess Confederation. Persekutuan Catur Malaysia or Malaysian Chess Federation ('PCM','MCF' or 'Federation'), established in January 1975 is the sole national body for international chess in Malaysia. The members of MCF are principally the State Chess Associations. MCF is in turn a Member of Federation Internationale Des Eches ('FIDE') and Affiliate (Associate Member) to Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM').
